Crittercism (later Apteligent) was an Application Performance Monitoring platform, specializing in mobile. I was brought on as the thirteenth employee at Crittercism to design their APL platform. I was able to interview customers to discern what potential features we should develop.
Early in the process I identified competing software platforms and decided to approach from the perspective of usability and actionable information. Designing our data-heavy platform in a way that non-developers could understand and identify issues to act on.
At Crittercism I was able to suggest, design, and see over the development of a new paradigm in APM, which we referred to as Crash Contextualization. I designed a system and visual language to be able to analyze specific user flows within software and identify user journeys that would become problematic.
By assigning dollar values to these flows and crashes, users could then prioritize bug fixes based on financial impact. This feature allowed users to easily identify problems that directly affected their bottom line and prioritize those above issues which may be more frequent, but less impactful to their business.
